Dr. Kallenbach earned her Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees in Animal Nutrition and Reproduction followed by a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida in 1993. She practiced conventional veterinary medicine at a multi-doctor practice for 6 years.
She was drawn to begin studying alternative medicine to find more natural treatment of the diseases she saw in practice and completed her training and certification for Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation (VOM), a non-manual form of animal adjusting, and Myofascial Release (MFR) a muscle release technique, in 1999. Continually striving to improve, Dr. Kallenbach then added Light Emitting Diode/Phototherapy and Infrasound (soundwave) therapy, as well as herbal supplementation, homeopathy and nutritional counseling to the care she provides her patients. She then completed her acupuncture training in 2002. Cold Laser therapy is her newest modality she is striving to add to her practice.
Dr. Kallenbach opened an exclusively alternative clinic in Homosassa, Florida and has since had Valerie Rutledge join her clinic. Valerie Rutledge is a certified canine massage therapist and is trained in Veterinary Orthopedic Manipulation as well as a full variety of massage styles for healing, training, and general health.
Dr. Kallenbach is a member of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the International Association of Veterinary Chiropractitioners and the Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine discussion group.
Dr. Kallenbach is a featured lecturer at national and international symposia on VOM. She has authored several articles and regularly treats performance animals at canine and equine training facilities in West-Central Florida.
Dr. Kallenbach also welcomes the opportunities to speak for dog clubs and health food stores, so please feel free to think of her if you have an interest in a speaker at a function your group is hosting. You may contact her at trish@dr-trish.com.
